Extraction day set

The CVBA will hold a honey extraction day at 8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 13 at the Treadway Fire Department.
Anyone who wishes to extract on that date must have his or her hives inspected ahead of time.

CVBA + LMU = Fantastic!

In May, CVBA officers presented three empty hives and several tools to the Lincoln-Memorial University Organic Garden Project.
The bees will be active partners in the organic gardening project, which currently consists of 35 4×10 foot individual beds and a 15,000 square foot community garden.

It’s time to order the bees!

CVBA President Jim Rice has reserved 00 packages of bees from Rossmans Apiaries in Georgia. So far, nearly 40 packages have been spoken for.
Anyone wishing to place an order for bees will need to make a $26 deposit per package by the next meeting, which is scheduled for 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 18.
