Tennessee Beekeepers Association Convention

Get those cameras out and get ready to submit entries for the Tennessee Beekeepers Association’s Photo Contest, which takes place during the Fall Convention.

The convention takes place Oct. 29-30 on the campus of Tennessee Technology in Cookeville. This photo contest and honey show are open to all TBA members, whether they attend the show or not. Categories include Scenic, Close-up, Portrait and Essay.

The University of Tennessee three-day Bee Master Course is scheduled for Sept. 23, 24 and 25 at the Treadway Fire Department. The class is being conducted by UT Professor Dr. John Skinner and State Apiarist Mike Studer.

Class hours are 6-9 p.m., Thursday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Saturday will be a hands-on day in the bee yard.

There is a $25 deposit/registration fee per person. Class size is limited to 50 participants. The deadline for registration is Aug. 31.

Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a Certification of Completion from the University of Tennessee.
