Virginia Webb, a third-generation beekeeper, will the guest speaker at our Aug. 20 meeting. She will discuss “Teaching Adult Beekeepers How to Teach Children About Beekeeping.”

Virgina began her beekeeping career in 1964 when her father, Joe Stephens, gave her a beehive as a birthday gift. She and her father ran a hobbyist beekeeping business North Carolina and Tennessee for many years.

She was the first state winner in Tennessee 4-H for beekeeping and was a Tennessee State Honey Queen. For more information, visit her Web site

At our Sept. meeting Jim Garrison and his wife be our guests. They will demonstrate how to make candles with beeswax. They will have an assortment of candles at the meeting for sale. Jim is the vice president of the Tennessee Beekeepers Association.
